WHAT IS KOBE BEEF?
During the second century A.D. the Wagyu breed of cattle was brought from the Asian mainland to Japan. The breed was refined in the Kobe region: over hundreds of years it has become famous around the world for it's intense, beefy flavor and supreme tenderness.
AMERICAN STYLE KOBE/WAGYU BEEF
- Developed in America by crossing certified Black Angus with Wagyu breed.
- USDA Prime cattle spend 150 to 175 days in the feed lot before harvesting.
American Style Kobe/Wagyu cattle spend 550 to 600 days in the feed lot: no growth hormones nor antibiotics are given. - USDA Prime + Grade 1 2 3 on the marbling scale.
American Style Kobe + Grades 5-12 on the marbling scale. - The fat in Kobe/Wagyu is 5 times as healthy as traditional fat.
